REPH v. Contingency Firms

Conduct search assignments on an exclusive contract basis. Regardless of the degree of difficulty, REPH focuses on uninterrupted results knowing that commitment to finding the right person is secure. Usually within one week candidates are submitted to the client that are on point. Work on non-exclusive assignments, with no guarantee of payment, and are usually in competition with other similar firms or our agencies. The contingency firms daily & privately access time allocation to a given search based on undisclosed criteria. This results in the false impression of a commitment to a search when, in reality, they are working on other things.
Search consultant typically invests 40-160 hours per month per client assignment in recruiting, evaluation, screening and client interaction. With no guarantee of payment for services performed, the consultant cannot afford to invest much time in a search beyond basic recruiting and submission of resumes.
Usually work at middle to senior management organizational levels. Usually search for lower level organizational positions including but not restricted to Individual contributors.
Must know client organization and position responsibility requirements thoroughly before initiating search. Typically they document this in a position description. Tend to spend little time on initial research and specification; often never interface with company management or prospects.
Recruiting efforts are strategically focused on a broad target range of potential candidates, most of whom are not active in the job market; recruiting is process and result oriented. Focus primarily on applicants/candidates actively seeking employment; recruiting is placement-oriented.
Typically, the REPH consultant is personally committed to 3-5 assignments at any given time and is responsible for the success or failure of each. Search consultant works concurrently with a multitude of open job orders, with little or no commitment to actually fill the search.
REPH recommends 3-4 highly qualified and ranked candidates to our client company over a 4-8 week period (typical). Will present most candidates within 1-2 weeks of obtaining job order, then lose interest in the search.
REPH is about fit. Contingency firms are about find.
REPH takes time to understand the client, the roles & responsibilities of the candidate they are looking for, and look for the candidates with the right Fit. We are involved in all aspects of the search process.

You pay for the FIT.

Resumes are faxed to multiple companies, requiring these companies to do most of the assessment process, offer negotiations, and payment of the placement.

You pay for the mere Find.

Requires minimal human resources and general management time investment until interview process begins. Contingency search requires considerable human resource involvement in screening, interviewing and evaluating candidates presented.
REPH offers a professional guarantee of candidate success and are committed to thorough and ethical practices and results. Under no obligation to guarantee or produce results due to contingency fee arrangement (paid on placement only).
REPH fees range from 25-33% of compensation (or flat quote) plus expenses and are paid by company in installments. Fees range from 15-33% of compensation and are paid by company on placement (or shortly thereafter).
